ELISE – Founder

(Nijmegen, The Netherlands)

With a Bachelor in Multimedia Systems from London Metropolitan University, and experience working at a large charity in the UK, at age 24 she decides to move to Peru, where she discovered her true intercultural and social passion: language teaching. She founded El Arte Sano in 2008. She currently works as a bilingual primary school teacher and translator in the city of Lima, and in the future she will bring all this new-found experience to the project in Urubamba. She currently supports management and the improvement of the teaching quality of the language courses.

ERIKA – Director

(Lima, Perú)

After working in Advertising in Lima for 14 years, Erika decided to make a change and moved into the NGO field. She joined the team at El Arte Sano in 2014 and has brought about a change in the way the organization was being run. She has made great improvements in the infrastructure and streamlined the means of communication. She believes in the importance of the arts for people of all ages and is constantly searching for ways to bring more workshops and creative experiences to the community of Urubamba. She is also in charge of the general direction of the project and the recruitment of volunteers for the language school.
